Oman intends to expand the horizons of its interaction with the Russian Federation on the basis of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the State Council of the Sultanate. This step is intended to strengthen bilateral relations and open up new prospects for cooperation in various fields.
During the 568th meeting of the Federation Council, the head of the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman, Abdelmalik bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Khalili, expressed satisfaction with the coincidence of the visit of the Omani delegation with the signing of the memorandum. "We seek through this agreement to strengthen cooperation, organize exchange visits and create tools for systematic interaction between our countries, as well as to open up prospects for cooperation in various fields and address emerging issues of common interest," he said.
Al-Khalili emphasized that the interaction between Russia and Oman is based on mutual respect, coordination and cooperation, whether bilaterally, multilaterally or in the international arena. "The real indicator that this relationship is special is that both sides are very happy with how the cooperation is progressing," he added.
Earlier, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with the head of the State Council of Oman, during which the importance of the visit of the Omani delegation for expanding cooperation between the two countries was emphasized.
Following the talks, the parties concluded a Memorandum of Understanding, which will serve as a basis for further strengthening ties between the parliaments of Russia and Oman and expanding areas of bilateral cooperation.
