The Hajar Mountains are a majestic mountain range in the east of the Arabian Peninsula, stretching 450 km across Oman. These young mountains of alpine origin are divided into Western and Eastern parts by the Wadi Sumail valley. The central region of Al-Akhdar includes the highest peaks of Ash Sham (3017 m) and Jabal Kaur (2730 m). Steep slopes form deep canyons and precipices up to 1000 m high. Numerous wadis with rivers and fresh water lakes cross the mountains. The climate in Hajar is mountainous, with cool winters and warm summers with abundant rainfall, which contrasts sharply with the arid interior of Oman. Scant vegetation is replaced by lush oases in the valleys where date and citrus farming is developed. The mountains are home to rare animal species such as the Arabian tahr and leopards. A few small settlements are scattered along the slopes of the Hajar, but overall the region is sparsely populated and well preserved.

Itinerary

1- Departure from Muscat: Our tour begins with a departure from Muscat, the capital of Oman. Along the way, you will enjoy views of coastal areas and mountain ranges, gradually immersing yourself in an atmosphere of tranquility and grandeur.

2. Transfer to Nizva: The first point of our itinerary is the ancient city of Nizwa, famous for its historic fort and traditional market (souq). Here you will be able to immerse yourself in the rich history of Oman, visit the famous Nizwa Fort and buy souvenirs at the local market.

3. Visit to Al Hamra village: Our itinerary includes a stop at the traditional village of Al Hamra. Here you will learn about the life and culture of the local people, see old mud-brick houses and taste local specialties.
